It’s been a while since we’ve been out taking shots and I can’t wait for the weather to break a bit and let us get back out there.

lately I’ve been occupied with observing the personalities at the bird feeder on this side of my house, in particular, this squirrel, we’ve nicknamed Fat Louie.

There are many squirrels that migrate to ‘Tony’s’ to gorge themselves at the all-you-can-eat buffet in the yard, but only one that seems to dominate over all of the rest, Fat Louie.

This guy waddled his way in, stands on his hind legs to take a look around, and instinctively, all of the other squirrels back off from the area.

Louie then walks over to my house, climbs the steps, and stares underneath the blinds awaiting a treat.

I mean, this guy actually looks for us, it’s pretty funny, if he see’s me in the window, he’s up on his hind legs as if you say ‘Yo, I’m hungry over here’, and I hit him up with a hand full of nuts.

Today Louie was sitting on a skid, staring at me in the window.

Below, he starts doing one-armed push ups to try to scare me into giving up the nuts.

And finally, below, I get the ‘You talking to me?‘ look when I tell him to hit the road.

He’s been busy shedding his winter coat, unless that’s mange and he’s loosing his mind, either way, he’s been a very interesting character the last few months and has survived the onslaught of the hawks in the neighborhood.

Louie is a survivor for sure.
